Despite all the offense, the Wakeland defense made one of the biggest plays of the game. With McKinney North in Wakeland territory and trying to score the potential tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, Wakeland linebacker Ethan Ringenbach recovered a McKinney North fumble.
The Wakeland offense then put the game away with a touchdown.
Wakeland has a week off before playing its first District 5-5A-I game against Heritage on Friday Sept. 27 at Toyota Stadium.
